sourgraping?

i got into looking up the exact definition for the word sourgraping. being that i'm best friends with google, i asked him for the definition of the word.

what's surprising is i didn't get any search result from a word definition website or even wikipedia. what i did get were blog posts from noypi bloggers.

so, is sourgraping a genuinely filipino-created word? much like pigmatizing? hmmm, i wonder...

maybe it's just not in the net yet, or maybe Filipinos are in to psychological terms, coz "sourgraping" is actually a psychological term, and it's in my psych book...well, from what i can recall it's a stress relief technique (like sublimation >.<) so that, well, pressure or stress is not on your self-concept but on the thing that you are sourgraping...ah our fragile self-concepts, gotta love them ^_^

oh, im a year late posting the definition of this term... in psychology, to 'sour grapes' is to feign disdain for something not acquired... therefore, it is like looking for a reason not to like something simply because you cannot have it... nowadays, people show sourgraping by coming out with negative comments at things they could not attain...
